We are happy to let you know that Malayalam Library is now functional at the Surry Public Library. The books are at the city center branch, which is near to the sky train and bus station. We have 87 titles in our Malayalam library now. The books are in the second floor in the world languages section and some in the kids sections. If you are close to other library branches, you can still avail it from those branches by requesting a book transfer. All these services are free as part of surrey public library system.

Currently the books are not part of the official catalogue. So they may not appear if you search in the surreylibraries.ca website. We are working with the city officials about that. But books are available from the library.

If you are in other cities, you can still take these books from the surrey library centers using your own library card, after linking your card to surrey library system. Inter city library book transfer is not yet available for these books yet.

We like to thank Melanie Houlden, Chief Librarian of Surrey Libraries, Ravi K Basi, Multicultural Outreach Librarian and Cecilia Roberts, Information Services SPL for their tireless support in making this a reality.

We encourage and request all community member to make use of this opportunity to the fullest.

If you still have some books from our old Malayalam library please return it. You can also donate your private collection to the library. Please contact Rajesh Jayaprakash at 604 329 5897 (Director 2013 Team) for making necessary arrangements.

Best Regards
